About Oaks Indian Mission
We care for abused, abandoned or neglected Native American children in Oaks, Oklahoma. Our calling is to provide children in need with a safe and stable environment to grow and mature in God's love, build character and learn skills that will help them lead and serve themselves and their communities in the future.
Our story proudly begins with Moravian missionaries who traveled with the Cherokee on the Trail of Tears to present-day Tahlequah. Since 1926, Oaks Indian Mission has operated as a safe place for Indian children to learn, to grow and to thrive.
We offer a diverse range of services and activities to our resident children in order to help them thrive. In addition to a safe home and place to receive an education, we provide a loving home atmosphere in each cottage, life skills courses, leadership training & more.
