About The American Indian Community Council
The American Indian Community Council (AICC) is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the Los Angeles County American Indian and Alaska Native community since 1998. Operating as a centralized hub for resources, AICC provides comprehensive support through health and wellness initiatives, community engagement programs, and collaborative partnerships with established organizations including The Episcopal Church of Echo Park, Indian Health Services, and Seven Generations of United American Indian Involvement (UAII). The organization actively promotes community well-being through multiple program offerings and initiatives designed to empower the Native American population in Los Angeles. AICC coordinates and supports Health and Wellness Fairs, participates in the Los Angeles Marathon, organizes Mental Health Awareness events in May, hosts annual Family Picnics and mini-Pow-wows, and leads celebrations during Native American Heritage Month each November. With Los Angeles County having the largest concentration of American Indians in the United States according to the 2010 Census, AICC's work is particularly vital to the region. The organization focuses on helping community members connect around cultural values while addressing health disparities and promoting self-determination. Through strategic collaborations and community-driven programming, AICC continues to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the Los Angeles Native American community, working to uplift and support individuals and families through culturally relevant services and events.
